Auctions to re-start as Government ease restrictions

Our auction team have welcomed the news that the Government have given the green light for property sales and rentals to reopen as of today. This follows the Prime Ministers announcement on Sunday evening about the easing of restrictions as he aims to slowly re-start the economy.

Previous restrictions on travel for “non-essential purposes” stopped all agents and auctioneers from being able to undertake property inspections, viewings and other activities and we felt it was in the best interest of achieving positive results for our valued clients that they delayed selling their property, if they were in a position to do so.

The change in legislation will allow us to undertake market appraisals, viewings, take high quality photographs and 360 degree videos tours to show your property in the best light and for surveyors to inspect the property to assist with mortgages/raising finance (if required).

This means we can now offer our full marketing campaign and allow prospective purchasers to undertake their usual due diligence, meaning we can achieve the best result possible, on your behalf.

The next auction will take place on Wednesday 24th June, and it will be live streamed via our website. We have between 2,000-3,000 people attend each of our auctions so for obvious reasons our traditional in-room auctions will not be able to go ahead.

Instead we will hold a remote bidding auction, where the auction is still held on a set time and date, with a number of properties being offered on the same day. Potential purchasers register before the auction which allows them to place a proxy bid (the auctioneer bids on their behalf up to their maximum amount), by phone (they bid over the phone via a member of our team) or on the internet (via a secure area on our website). We already offer these services at our in-room auctions, so they are all tried and trusted ways of bidding, in fact we had 850 remote bidders register for our 27th February 2020 auction, so we know it works.
