Bond Wolfe Auctions offers two homes in same Birmingham street priced at £20k to £25k

Two family homes in Birmingham with competitive guide prices* of just £20,000 to £25,000 each are appearing in Bond Wolfe Auctions’ Birmingham auction at Villa Park on Thursday 9 May.

With the average house topping £226,000 in the government’s UK House Price Index, fierce competition from bidders is expected for the two sizeable properties guided at less than a tenth of that price in Handsworth.

The mid-terraced house at 84 Boulton Road stand backs from the road behind with two reception rooms, a kitchen and bathroom on the ground floor, and three bedrooms upstairs.

The house up the street at 163 Boulton Road is similar but has the bathroom upstairs with two bedrooms, although both properties are said to be in need of improvement works.

Gurpreet Bassi, chief executive of Bond Wolfe Auctions, said: “We expect both these homes on Boulton Road to be targeted by first-time buyers with an eye for renovation or by landlords with money to invest seeking to expand their portfolios.”

There’s an even lower price for a family home in nearby Erdington where a three bedroomed, semi-detached and leasehold house at 56 Glendon Road which requires modernisation throughout has a guide price of just £14,000 to £19,000.

Meanwhile, a two bedroomed, semi-detached house needing improvements at 15 Burrington Road in Bartley Green has a guide price of £20,000+, although this comes with a driveway, garage and gardens.

Even more impressive is a three bedroomed, double-fronted house in an end-of-terrace position at 55 Eva Road in Winson Green, also with a guide price of £20,000+.

This also needs thorough renovation, but it benefits from gardens, a gas-fired central heating system and double-glazing to most windows.

The bargains on offer at the auction also include a three-bedroomed, semi-detached house at 380 Lickey Road in Rednal, located opposite Cofton Park and close to the Lickey Hills, with a guide price of £34,000 to £39,000.

Bidders will be excited by a three bedroomed, mid-terraced house at 166 Tennal Road in the property hotspot of Harborne which has a guide price of £99,000+, while back in Erdington a two bedroomed, detached house at 16 Knightwick Crescent has a guide price of £50,000+.

Mr Bassi added: “We have a huge variety of properties to suit all tastes and are expecting a packed auction room with many other bids online and by phone.”

Bond Wolfe Auctions was launched earlier this year by a team with over 250 years of experience. The first auction on 13 March at Villa Park saw a total of £16.7 million raised from the sale of 103 properties.
