As retained auctioneer of Birmingham City Council, we are delighted to offer a further 12 lots on behalf of the local authority in our next live-streamed auction on Thursday, 11 July.

The sale of a selection of freehold properties, commercial investments and ground rents follows on from the successful sale of eight out of nine city council properties offered in our May auction.

A two-storey detached former children’s home provides a substantial site with redevelopment opportunities, subject to planning permission. The building at 55 Stevens Avenue, Birmingham, has latterly been used as a family office, comprising of offices, classroom and seven parking spaces. The property is offered freehold with a guide price* of £325,000+. The site is located in Woodgate, close to the popular commuter suburb of Harborne.

Commercial investment and ground rent opportunities include 140 Hockley Hill, Birmingham, a freehold investment of land and industrial premises, which is being sold with a guide price of £100,000+. It is subject to a 99 year lease from January 1978 with a ground rent of £4,100 with six year rent reviews.

The freehold of 29 Inkerman Street, Birmingham, is also being sold with a guide price of £20,000+. The site comprises land and industrial premises let on a 99 year lease from June 1988, subject to a peppercorn ground rent. Next door, 30 Inkerman Street, Birmingham, the freehold interest on land and premises is also being sold, subject to a 99 year lease from September 1988, also with a peppercorn ground rent. It has a guide price of £55,000+.

Also going under the hammer is 32 New John Street West, Birmingham, available with a guide price of £55,000+, comprising land and industrial premises subject to a lease of 99 years from April 1973 with a ground rent of £2,200 per annum and reviews every 21 years. And the neighbouring property, 34 New John Street West, Birmingham, is also for sale freehold, comprising land and industrial premises on a 99 year lease from April 1973 with a ground rent of £2,000 per annum, subject to reviews every 21 years. This has a guide price of £50,000+.

105 Saltley Road, Birmingham, is available as industrial land and premises being sold freehold, subject to a 125 year lease from November 1986 on a ground rent of £2,000 per annum, subject to reviews every 21 years. It comes with a guide price of £25,000+.

Commercial investment opportunities include 9 Whitmore Road, Birmingham, a freehold retail investment comprising a shop with living accommodation above currently producing gross income of £11,500 per annum. It has a guide price of £190,000+.
