Traditional values, modern solutions

Do you have a property to sell or let?

A fully restored, mixed-use Georgian property in Wolverhampton city centre has been sold in a £450,000 deal sealed by Bond Wolfe.

The three-storey Cosmo Bonsor building, at 14 Bond Street, was once owned by Sir Henry Cosmo Bonsor, a brewer and politician who sat in the House of Commons from 1885 to 1900. It has been sympathetically restored to an impeccable standard throughout, as evidenced by the level of workmanship and quality of the fixtures and fittings.

Set in a cobbled city centre street, it has benefitted from significant investment, with its ground floor bar refurbished to a high standard along with the four self-contained apartments on the first and second floors. The vendor ran these properties via Air BnB.

James Mattin, agency managing director at Birmingham-based Bond Wolfe, said: “We are delighted to have concluded the sale of Cosmo Bonsor. The vendor spent a great deal of money and effort transforming this former pub into a high-end club/destination venue that provides additional income from four beautifully refurbished, self-contained apartments above. We wish the new owners every success as they continue the great work carried out by our client and open the doors for business at this great venue.”

Considered a turnkey bar opportunity finished to the highest standard, the bar extends to 2,300 sq ft with a catering kitchen and external terrace, as well as a bespoke oak-topped bar servery.

Law firm Healys in London acted for the seller while Howes Percival in Northampton advised the buyer.
